Bring your Microsoft Teams history into SphereOne.

Sign in with Microsoft 365 and choose the teams, channels and chats to bring over. SphereOne only reads, so nothing in Teams changes, and you see a preview before anything is written.

What comes over from Microsoft Teams

Teams and channels, group and one-to-one chats, with replies, reactions and shared files, read straight from Microsoft.

  • Teams and their channels, standard and private
  • Group chats and one-to-one chats the connected account is in
  • Messages with their replies and reactions
  • Shared files
  • People, matched to their SphereOne accounts by email

Connect Microsoft 365

There is no file to export. SphereOne reads straight from Microsoft 365 once you sign in.

  1. In SphereOne, open Settings › Migration and choose Microsoft Teams.
  2. Click Connect Microsoft 365 and sign in with an account that can see the teams and chats you want. A Teams admin or a global admin is simplest.
  3. Tick a team to bring all of its channels, or open it and choose. Then pick the chats to include.
  4. Check the preview, then start the import.

Good to know

  • SphereOne only reads. Nothing in Microsoft Teams is changed.
  • Private channels come over only when the connected account is a member of them.
  • Only the chats the connected account is part of are listed, and each person in a chat gets their own copy in SphereOne.

How the import works

For workspace admins on Starter, Business and Enterprise. On a free trial you can upload an export and see the full preview; running the import needs a paid plan.

  • Nothing is written until an admin confirms
  • Set a cut-off date for the day you switch
  • Any import can be undone

Preview first

SphereOne reads the export and shows you the rooms, people and message counts. Nothing is written yet.

Decide people and rooms

Link each person to a member, invite them, keep their name only or leave them out. Create each room fresh, merge it into one you have, or skip it.

Import in the background

Start it when you are ready. It runs in the background, can be paused, and duplicates are skipped when you merge.

Undo if you need to

Undo removes only what the import created. Anything your team has posted since stays where it is.

Questions about importing from Microsoft Teams

Do we need to export anything from Microsoft Teams?

No. SphereOne reads directly from Microsoft 365 after you sign in, so there is no file to download or upload.

Does importing change anything in Microsoft Teams?

No. SphereOne only reads your teams, channels and chats. Nothing in Microsoft Teams is changed.

Which chats come over?

The group chats and one-to-one chats the connected account is part of. Private channels come over when that account is a member of them.

Can we still schedule Microsoft Teams meetings from SphereOne?

Yes. Connect your Microsoft account and choose Teams when you schedule a meeting, and SphereOne adds the Teams link.

Importing from somewhere else?
